LOL...funny that you mentioned "Deliverance". It's one of my favorite novels and I like the movie, too. If you recall, the premise for their canoe trip is to travel down a river (not too terribly far from Deal's Gap, actually) before they dammed the river to generate electricity.

The comments I heard prior to heading to Deal's Gap -- "You have to ride The Dragon at least once in your life" sounded eerily like "You have to canoe The Cahulawassee River before they dam it up".

And then there was the "Dragon Slayer" initiation for first time riders of US129...I can't really talk about it, but if you just relax it's over pretty quickly. Nothing to lose any sleep over, but you're going to want that AirHawk if you're riding the next day. Wink
