LSD (Lake Shore Drive to non-Chicagoans)

I live in Valparaiso just south east of the city. My wife and I have bicycled the LSD starting at the Museum of Science and Industry area and headed north for a 20 mile route. I throw the bikes in the back of a mini van and head up to the city. It is a beautiful ride on the walking, bike, running path. Anyhow I was just telling my wife this weekend I want to ride by CB1100 up there one Saturday or Sunday this summer and ride the lake shore.

At the expense of ditching the motorcycle, the bike path is even more stunning as you get up right next to the lake. I love that curve just south of Oak St. Beach, as on windy days when the waves are choppy, that area will get flooded with water (harmlessly so), but it's entertaining to bike through due to it's mild risk. Great trail indeed. One of the few things I can proudly say tax payer money went well towards.

It does get a little hairy around Navy Pier on the bicycle. It is a beautiful ride... I would love to do the ride on the CB. I think I can avoid the toll road by taking 41 through Hammond and East Chicago. I would pick it up at highway 30 or I-94. We should put something together this summer for those who live in the general area.
