Thanks Novice. I completely agree. I've ridden a couple times with a local sport riding group and, for the most part, they are a bunch of enthusiastic, fun loving, good people. I was struck by something that was shared early on by one of the group's leaders and that was the fact that on average, they have one rider go down each outing. I remember being shocked at such a statement and it made me rethink whether group riding was for me. That told me that people in the group were prone to riding beyond their limits and, no doubt, feeling pressure to either keep up or prove something. I obviously don't know what caused this particular rider to go down but thoughts of pushing limits certainly crossed my mind.
