That's a very interesting point, Max.
I soften the bugs and only use fingertips, to ensure NO scratching. It's important that the hardened wing cases, blood, etc of these bugs are not dragged dry and unsoftened across the plastic. So I soak first, and you can actually feel when it's all soft. At that point, the stuff just washes away. Cheap too!
