popgun, where did you find the information on Google? I did make a bit of an effort but found nothing.

I just searched on historic Keetah bridge and a number of links came up. This one: http://caravanersforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=43113 has a link to a .pdf in the second post. Here is the link:

And has some great pictures of the river, the weirs, etc and some explanation. On one site it says that the bridge is to be upgraded. Is that so?

Thanks for the link popgun. I scanned that but didn't see anything about why and when the bridge was built. I'll have another look. I didn't see any signage that suggested the bridge was to be upgraded.
