I do have the 2014 DLX and can therefor not comment on the 2014 standard. For me the looks of the 2014 DLX are the best . You could upgrade the 2014 by installing the 2017 forks and the slipper clutch on the 2017 is nice. I do not care for the spoked wheels because it is more difficult to repair a flat on the road. I think that it is up to you to decide which one you like : looks or slightly better ride on the 2017.
