Just learned that bigger load = more tire wear.

The stock tires were shot after just a few weeks. I then got a pair of Pirelli Angel GT II. Front lasted 14,000km, rear was punctured last fall and was replaced about 7,000km ago. So the rear disappointed, but of course five days of two up will wear it down faster.
The T31s certainly seem fine, but it’s a little hard to tell yet. We’re still out on the road, and only got a couple of hours on them yesterday, on wet roads. With passenger and bags. It felt good to not have to entertain that anxiety, and we have excellent roads ahead of us today. Stay safe!
