Phase One completed

Completed phase one of the conversion this weekend. Emgo fairing and Fuzzy's shorty exhaust mod, (thanks, Fuzzy!). She's making progress. Next up is getting rid of that ugly chirstmas tree on the rear fender.

Did Ken Fontenot install the Emgo for you at his shop on Clay Rd?
He said he was going to do one on a CB1100 and yours looks great!

I did indeed buy it from Ken. I try to purchase my motorcycling goods and equipment from [url=http://www.cyclesportsofhouston.com/]Cycle Sports to support them whenever possible. It's the best shop I've found in this area, he and his staff are very friendly and helpful, and they have a real love for the old 60s and 70s metric bikes. Some of their racer conversions and refurbs are downright drool-worthy.

I did the fairing installation myself. It's not complicated, but the fitment is a bit fidgety, being a generic. There are minor collision issues, specifically with the turn signal posts, but nothing you can't work around with a little experimentation. And, as you say, for 75 bucks I'm not complaining if it doesn't have show-bike perfect fitment. I ride my bikes, not display them -- and at the speed I usually zip through traffic, nobody's gonna notice how the bike looks, anyway.
