The first one I installed blew out quickly, but it was a transplant from the nighthawk. The second bulb in the pack is still going strong as of now (cross my fingers) and I think it's a good investment for the increase in light vs cost.
Now the HID conversion bulbs I'm no fan of because even though they may fit the housing, they do not project the beam of light properly because the lit portion of the bulb in not in the correct place within the light housing. So what you end up with is what APPEARS to be a brighter light because it is defused right in front of you and the light is scattered all over the place instead of a focused beam of light that actually light up the road in front of you.
If you can find a complete housing that is specifically designed for an HID bulb than I would go with that all day long because then you'll be sure that the beam will be correct and not blinding everyone that comes at you and will properly light up the road in front of you.
