If it's a matter of convenience, think of how much you'll miss the bike if you sell it before you leave. Especially since, as you say, it's set up just how you like it. If you can make a little room for it, you'll thank yourself when you get to Texas.
No offense to anyone on the forum who lives in El Paso. But, the last company I worked for had a factory in El Paso, which I visited regularly. We weren't allowed to leave company vehicles in hotel parking lots for security reasons. Make sure you haul that puppy in an enclosed U-Haul.
