I have a few questions on the topic. 1: Is it necessary to remove the engine from the frame to get the heads and cylinders off (is there enough room under the backbone)? 2: Has anyone polished the cooling fin edges? And 3: Would polishing the fin edges affect the engine's ability to cool? I love the look of polished edges on air-cooled engines and I'm just wondering if anyone has tried it on their CB yet.

1. No*

2. Don't think so.

3. Don't know, but I am inclined to agree with kmoney. Probably not a significant effect on cooling as long as you don't reduce fin area significantly.

* But if all you want to do is polish the engine why not take your time and remove the engine? Not a lot of extra work and the ability to get to all the bits and do a good job.

Cheers
