So, I had my first experience with a suppository today. Suffice it to say, both my Minnie Driver-lookalike nurse and I agree that it's a good thing she has tomorrow off from work.
A few hours later, however, holy crap, I unloaded enough fertilizer to cover the entire poppy crop of a good-sized Afghani village. The poor hospital, they had to send in their very best, battle-hardened Haz-Mat cleanup crew to deal with the aftermath.
Because the neck and ankle fractures are non-displaced, the surgeons say that they prefer to take a wait-and-see appoach, rather than go in right away. The double compound-fractures to the femur gave them no choice but to operate immediately, as did the shattered heelbone. They hope to see the neck and ankle bones heal on their own.
Tomorrow they are booting me outta here, into one of those Stephen King-approved Skilled Nursing Care house-of-horrors facilities.
