General CB1100 info:
As to combination meter:
*mechanically, it is "trapped" between two plastic covers, top and bottom.
It requires to remove few bolts and screws, clamps; separate these covers to gain inside access
* electrically, there are two electrical connectors (may have to disconnect its printed circuit??). There is a serial communication line that runs from the meter to ECU, and if it is malfunctioning, it may trigger DTC 86-1.
You are pretty mechanically/electrically inclined, so I do not want to hear your complaint
