RE: Sato Racing Rearsets
#6

So I'm happy to report back!

The unit arrived within 2 days of order. Shipped from CA to Atlanta GA. Packaging was great, comes with 2 Sato Racing stickers as well Smile

The installation guide that came with the kit was pitiful, the only helpful thing in there was the schematic diagram. Matt had mentioned the guide was not so helpful, so I thought I'd put one together for them. I am uploading it here for our forum folks as well.

Some key notes:
1. If you want to install the rear brake switch light that comes with the kit. You will need to bleed the brake system. I skipped this step, because we disconnect the lights for the track anyways
2. This is not an adjustable rearset that some other samurider and webike units, these are set to lock in 40mm behind and above stock positions. You can only adjust the height of the shift/brake arms

How does it feel?
While the riding position has certainly become a lot more sportier; it's not too aggressive to cover couple hundred street miles on it. This is based on my little test ride only though - I'm 6ft tall.

This unit is nearly $300-$350 cheaper than the other Japanese units. But the quality of this product is great. They almost look like a stock unit when you are done mounting them.

The unit is pushed back and lifted up 40mm which feels like not much, but it'll help me stop dragging my toe in tight corners. Toe dragging on the track would snap me out of the moment and I'd end up losing the line and my precious momentum Smile

I'm really happy with the purchase, I hope ya'll benefit from this right up.
Uploading some pictures to show stance.

A picture of what I am trying to avoid. See how awfully close my feet would get to the asphalt. I am hoping these rearsets will help me fix it. Not to mention, having good cornering skills will certainly help more than the rearsets itself Smile
