I started selling the stuff I had accumulated in my garage over the years that I was holding on to but not using to finance my addiction. It was actually a great experience. It’s easy for a do-it-yourself-er to justify hanging in to things you “might” need or find a use for some day. I sold it on ebay. It became motivating. Getting rid of x amount of stuff = this or that mod. It gave me something to look forward to. And I was getting rid of stuff that had become clutter which I would have had to deal with someday. Or my kids would have had to deal with it after I’m gone.
