Any number of things could be interpreted here. When I asked my dealership they came back and said 10w30 and said it did not mention any other viscosities... That is how the dealership read it...
Like I have said numerous times now, if your bike can run the 40 weight oil and doesn't kick scream or make goofy noises then great for you. You are one of the lucky ones... There is a good number of us that have the, for the lack of a better term, finicky bikes and not all of us are in the frozen climates.
The key thing is ride safe keep your wheels down and enjoy the bike.
Please for those that are lucky to run the 40 weight please keep the contents, comments, personal findings about 40 weight oil off of this thread as this has turned into almost an informative one for those with the noise reading how others before then have dealt with it. putting your findings or views only clouds this thread when some may look to it for guidance in the future. It is the Honda service manual for the 2013 Honda CB1100, the same one the Service Manager at our local dealer has........Do you think I'm lying about this? What do you need?

No one is trying to muddy up this thread. Believe what you wish, but you are not considering that your (and others) claim that Honda specifies the exclusive use of 30 weight is causing concern among some of us that use 40 weight, even though most of us are not having issues. I was worried a little myself, until I looked into it, using credible sources.
Just one example, a member recently posted that he is going to go to the expense of changing his oil, (his choice), even though he is not having issues. What you are saying is causing concern to others. Honda does not say that, I just showed you proof of it. It is not a personal finding, it is in the Honda Service Manual for the 2013 CB1100. There are three different areas in the manual that list specification for engine oil, the excerpt I printed is the only one of the three that mentions 40 weight, but it is there.
I was one of the first people to listen to your original post, out of concern for you, my advice was to go straight to the dealer. I'm sorry your dealer didn't take your problem seriously, I would have demanded that they find the problem and fix it, period. I assure you that if you had demanded more, you would have received more. The truth is that you do not know for sure what is/was wrong. My only reason for posting here was to perhaps provide you with another perspective, (trying to help you). I am suggesting that until you are sure, you should keep an open mind. There are other things that cause low oil pressure, (your actual problem), what if it's not the viscosity of your oil?
I truly hope that your problem is fixed, I do. You don't have to worry about me posting anything else on your thread.
