About me: veteran rider (30+ yrs) so not looking for a track bike. I’m 51 so sport bikes are no longer in my cards (selling my ‘14 Thruxton). I have a couple ACTUAL vintage bikes, so I’m not looking to fill a long lost love. Just want a comfortable daily rider for in town and weekend rides.
Hi, you sound like me when I was trying to buy my 2013 CB1100. Tried twice to get a Deluxe, BOTH sold out from under me by two different dealerships. (Which I no longer look at their used/new bikes. I paid $5100 for one with 6k miles, Corbin seat, and Yoshimura exhaust. I sold the seat for $200, so it was $4900 out of pocket. He claimed it had never been ridden in the rain or dropped. I know the rain part sounds fishy, so I had the owner of the Honda shop here look it over, and under. He found absolutely no rust anywhere, and said, "You did well!"
I have already put over 2k miles on it, love it. I have seen some cheaper than I paid and a lot out there for $6000. Sorry to get long winded, but if it is good shape, no rust or dings, offer $4200. If he will not budge, I would say, buy it. If it needs to new tires, watch out. that is a good chunk of change to buy and mount. I think I got a good deal, regardless of how little some claim to have paid, and I have never looked back!
