2014 rims vs. 2017 spoked rims---will they fit?

Wasn't there a discussion recently about this? I'll look a bit later and see if I can't find it, although if Lord Popgun has failed, I won't have much chance. There are questions of axle size between different models, aren't there?

I think [url=http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=12759]this was the thread I was thinking about. It is talking about going the other way: putting DLX mags on a 2017 EX. It does point to some potential problems.
