Getting back to your question about other bikes that have a similar retro look to the CB1100 for you to consider, how about taking a look at the Yamaha XSR900? I saw one the other day in vintage yellow/black/white (2016 model) with a matching tail piece on the seat, and it stopped me in my tracks. Might be at the upper limit of your price range unless you get lucky, but something to think about if you haven't already.
