Not to criticize or anything like that but for normal riding these braided lines will not do any significant improvement...racing = different story.

Yes, but the Honda manual suggest changing brake likes every couple years I think. Who does that? The Braided Steel lines will last for years, and are warrantied for the life of your bike. And they do help with stopping on a high speed stop, especially w/out ABS.

Hardcore members at ADV forums appear to suggest that exterior braided lines deteriorate in profuse off-road riding conditions. Something about the debris getting into the exterior braiding.

For on-road, and if one needs to change the lines out anyway, why not go braided? If a lot of freeway riding is done, would it not help as a defensive measure to have braided lines against rocks and stones? Sure, the brake assertion might feel punchier, but the owner knows that already.
