For some reason or another, the left indicator has a M8 thread, whereas the right is M10. Left also has wire guide (which is factory according to the manual) but the right just had a plain nut. Either way, that's how they got refitted with a sleeve in the headlamp bowl on the left side to reduce the diameter of the hole.

It never ceases to amaze me to how much wiring can be crammed into the headlight bowl. Fortunately it all wraps around the top, leaving a hole in the middle for the light unit.

I did see that the headlight reflector had been drilled to fit a small side light lamp, presumably as some form of UK import requirement? I left it in for now and made a note to tidy up the wiring and (somehow) clean the inside of the headlamp later.
