Bose QC20 - am I too .... dumb ?

I wear a full-face Shoei RF-1200 and use the QC20s under it and connected to my Cardo PackTalk. I don't have much problem with these earbuds because the little silicone "flange" thing lodges them in place. However, there is a technique to this and I suspect it's different for each user and each helmet -- for me I put the helmet on from front to back and that seems to keep things in place. That said, I usually wear a Buff (aka neck gaiter aka neck tube, you know what I mean) over my head and ears. I've done that since before I had earbuds because it keeps my inner helmet cleaner and actually does an ok job of diffusing wind noise (in my old HJC helmet). Since it's breathable, I hardly know it's there and it holds the earbuds in place perfectly.
