Your '98 VFR also has a lot more legroom than the CB1100. The only aspect in which the CB has the comfort advantage is its more upright riding position. Adding a set of Helibars to the VFR largely negates that one advantage.

Interesting. I felt like a jockey when I rode the 2014 VFR with my legs folded up underneath me and the bars were very low. I'd be very surprised if the knee angle was more on a CB 1100.
