If something like that is high-value and saleable (don't know the H-D used market well) it's probably worth a repair instead of a jury-rigged temporary fix.
Or else, if it really is too spendy to have done...mark it off the advertised price. Any knowledgeable buyer of a Harley is gonna know his way around a tool kit.
