I owned a 2002 GSF1200F and it was considerably faster than the CB1100. The engine was a slightly detuned version of the 80s GSX-R1100 mill. The bike was smooth and quick but you felt you were sitting on top of it rather than in it. Until you have ridden a bike, it is best not to rely on published horsepower ratings. Manufacturers typically inflate horsepower which they measure at the crank anyways. I recall that the first Kaw Z1 had 70-some horsepower rating in 1973. The displacement was bumped from 903cc to 1015cc in 1977 and horsepower claims kept creeping up to almost 100 hp by 1980. The carbs didn't flow as much gas in 1980, the cams were the same as well as the crank and head and the only thing that changed was the piston diameter from 63mm to 70mm (or thereabouts). Would a 112cc displacement bump yield 30 more horsepower? Errrrr I have personally interchanged every part from both engines and they have just about the same amount of power... mid to upper 60s at the rear wheel on a dyno.
