Fake parts like fins on a liquid-cooled motor or radiator scoops on an air-cooled motor really annoy me. Keep it real!
I heard that the new generation Triumph Bonnevilles have plastic covers that fake the look of carbs. I've never seen one up close but that would bother me if true.

It could well be that it's both air- and water-cooled.
My take on it is, I salute the engineers who use all available resources, cooling and otherwise. Water-cooling provides quiet operation and more-stable temperatures. But just as how air-cooled engines get a boost with oil-coolers and oil-galleys through the heads...so, too, might water-cooled engines get a hand-up with some cooling fins in critical places. Smaller radiators and less stress.
