Since I worked at a Honda store, I got to ride the NC700DCT, NC700 manual, and CB500X.
I've always felt the "big" ADV bikes originated with the idea that they could be ridden two-up. IMHO, of course. The NC700DCT is a great bike to ride. We ran it side-by-side against my BMW F800GS, and I got smoked!
Like the rider on the Honda said "I just made 5 perfect shifts (alluding to the DCT)...how many did you make?"

As Papa noted, the HP is almost identical comparing the 500 and 700, but the 500 is 40 pounds lighter. Seems like more! If your riding doesn't include two-up, and you want to ride off-pavement, it's hard to think of a better bike in a one-bike stable.
IMHO, of course..
