My son has a 696 Monster. His wife bought it for him new as a wedding present. He had wanted a Ducati since he was a kid. He has about 6000 miles on it I think. Owning it has been a trying experience. The electrics have gone out, it has had persistant oil leaks, the transmission locked up, and the rear brake has squeaked loudly since new. He calls it his 50 mile bike. He won't ride it more than 50 miles from home. If he actually wants to go so,eplace he rides his Yamahas.
