Buying the same bike twice

I have now bought and sold the same bike twice, for the same reason. My 2013 V-strom 650, like my 2006, was a great bike with no mechanical faults. Both bikes were, we'll not terribly exciting. I just never bonded with either of them. I ride bikes for pleasure. While simply getting out and riding is fun, the bike needs to give me a jolly. I made the mistake of taking a used R1200GS home for the weekend. If my signature is any indication of what happened...
