I've said this before, but I think shopping for a new motorcycle can be just as much fun as actually riding one. It would be too boring to buy the same bike twice.
Why is that? I guess it's because even to the average middle-class person, almost the entire motorcycle market is open to consideration.
The price difference between low-end and high-end bikes isn't all that great, within reason. We all spent "about" 10k on our bikes, but if we really, REALLY wanted to spend 14 or 16 or 20 grand on something we fell in love with, most of us could probably get away with it.
That is certainly not so with cars or houses or many other things. We know our price range, and must shop within it.
I wanted an S2000, I knew I could afford one, so that's what I got. I also admire the 911 or the new NSX, but they're simply not on the table.
With bikes, there can be A LOT of stuff on the table.
