Another bike I was thinking of getting before the Honda CB11 was BMW's F800ST. But BMW's complete lack of support with the surging issues of their R1100 about 10 years ago, and the catastrophic shaft drive failures of their big Boxers about 5 years ago.
Well, I'm glad I slowed down, because [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ebo7LJKPHM]this youtube video (featuring the sad harmonica from "Once Upon a Time in the West") pretty much squashed the idea of getting that BMW Twin.
BMW has some interesting design ideas that I like, but their QC and warranty support suck bowling balls.
The R1100RS surging issue was such a joke! Everyone complained about it, BMW denied it (Surgink issue?!?! Vott surgink issue?!?! Ziss interview iss over!!), THEN they introduced a dual-sparkplug design the following year that cured the surging issue. The surging bikes' resale values were in the toilet and everyone who bought one got sceerewed.
