sorry i opened the " sport bike " can of worms again , should have stayed with rice rocket. BTW my Sport CB160 was a Sport Bike back in 1965 !
love seeing the road you took to the CB1100 camoto
I consider the CB1100 " by old Standards " to be a Standard or Naked.
rode a Ducati Monster and it was very impressive and i walked away thinking it was a muscle bike . one ride on a Kawasaki 750 triple was just so frightening it fit into no class i had every dreamed about. " Suicidal ? "
so i guess my question has to do with bikes you have owned that had so much power and speed that i wonder why you went with the CB1100 ? for me it was age and lack of self control
Honestly, I think I came to the realization that I didn't need all that horsepower on the street. I no longer do track days. Also-- my aching back! I don't want to be hunched over for hours on end as I tour around and see the world.
My current dual sport is a KTM 500EXC and it's what I ride for the thrill. It's a handful in the single track but honestly it's the swiss army knife of bikes. It's street legal and I can do 70mph no issue. I was honestly thinking about getting another one and putting 80/20 tires and luggage on it but then the more I looked around the more I fell in love with the CB. I've been having a lot of fun scrubbing off the "chicken strips" that the last owner left on the tires!
I have a great little clip of one of the best trails from the Six Days of Michigan trail ride in July on the 500 if you like clips:

Speaking of clips, here's another one of the SuperDuke from a couple of seasons ago. This is right out my back door. The gopro wide angle flattens the curves but trust me some of those are really nice bends:

And if you have a lot of time for videos, here's one from last year I did a private tour in Vegas with Daryl Folks and Track-on. This guy puts on fantastic tours:
