My KZ-550Ltd was not a sport bike, but that motor was. Coming from a CJ360 it was a revelation. In fact it was the bike that "made" me quick bikes for 25 years. Today, my Griso is my hooligan bike (and touring bike). It's not truly a sport bike (too heavy) but for me it is; really it's more of a sporty bike. But I have no need for 100hp and 80 is plenty in the real world for me. I tend to gravitate to the larger machines simply because of ergonomics, not the need for HP. As the back ages, I look more to four wheels for touring and long drives more than bikes. Plus I just don't enjoy long drives. Just got back from 3500 with the family in the pickup so any desire for another trip in the near future is nil.
