Awhile back "Nathan the Postman" completed a wonderful "postie" ride (ct105?) on his trusty steed he called "Dot" from Sydney to London--an amazing trip with next to nothing preparation. His writeup, stories and photos used to be on advrider.com, but I think all the links to the photos went belly-up. But here's a summary from youtube:
DOT. Sydney to London on a Wing and a Prayer
I think he ended up writing a book on it as well. Some called him wreckless for lack of prep, but he showed that it's more attitude than huge adv bike that will take you places.
