I've ridden the NC700X, Africa Twin, and VFR1200F DCT models, as well as a Vultus (NM4 here), and all seemed smooth shifting, but maybe not as smooth as one could shift and clutch a manual transmission. Or maybe I just hadn't gotten used to that yet. When I rode them, I eventually just left them in full auto mode and enjoyed them as such.
My only real complaint is that when maneuvering at very low speeds or splitting lanes, having a clutch gives a lot more control, as opposed to modulating the throttle and the front brake at the same time. I tend not to use the rear brake at those times, just my habit.
