I love the V-strom as well but the Honda has far better braking and to me, a better seat. The Strom puts out a few more horses but gets there with a very high rev limit.
My wife had a 2007 and a 2012 Strom and she loved them both but she likes the Honda better. Of course the best is what ever a person prefers; they're both great rides and at bargain prices.
