I know a Brit who rode a RE in London during the early '60s and said it was the crappiest bike ever. However, it was cheap and you get what you paid for. He was wrenching his bike in the morning to get to work, and before bed so he wouldn't have to in the morning (sounds like that didn't work out to well). Fueling problems was a bit of a *itch with him.
