What caught my eye a year ago and got me thinking about a new and lighter bike was the Suzuki S40, I loved the retro look, but it was too small and kick start only. I noticed it at a dealer that was giving test rides on the not yet released Scout which I was in line to test drive. I knew I definitely wanted the retro look. I looked at T-100s, Scout and any other retro styled bike, except the CB1100. I went to a Honda dealer twice and he tried to sell me everything except the CB1100, I finally noticed one in the corner and asked him about it, the rest is history. My considerations were, Styling, weight reduction (from a Harley) performance and comfort. My short list came down to the Scout, Shadow and the CB. I didn't really want another Cruiser style bike, as I kept the Harley, so the CB was the obvious choice and I have no regrets buying it. A lot has changed in a year though. I fell in love with the Ducati Scrambler when it came out last spring and now the Moto Guzzi scrambler, both very sharp bikes in my eyes. If I were buying today, my short list would be different. Granted the CB is a bit heavier than the scramblers and i'm not sure about comfort on the scramblers (to be honest the jury is still out on the CB, comfort wise) I don't think I could forfeit the overall performance of the CB1100. I have had an opportunity to spend some time on my sons new T-100 and its a great bike, but its not a CB.....IMO
