This is true but not entirely so. The Connie is a semi-known quantity as I have ridden one more than once. The FJ09 is known in a similar way, but let it suffice to say that I would never buy anything without first riding it and putting it through paces. Nothing gets purchased sight unseen.
300 miles may be nothing for the right bike on paper but with a full time job, tons of social obligations, work to do around the house, and weekend trips that are already planned, adding another weekend trip to my plate at this time is a pretty tall order. Not impossible, just highly undesirable. I would have to cancel other plans to accomplish it, or else wait around a month before I could really get to it, which puts my cb at risk in the daily commute grind for far too long.
