It's going pretty well. At a little over 700 miles I am getting used to it. Power I must say is merely adequate. It does everything I ask of it powerwise, but impress with its power..... if you get my drift. I rode the CB 1100 yesterday and thought "man, what a mc the NC 750 would be if it had this power and torque". I ride it just as fast as I ride the CB, and the FJR, there just isnt a lot of motor in reserve. After riding powerful bikes for the last 44 years, it is quite a change. At least I dont have to row the gearbox to keep it going, like I did the CB 500X I had in the garage for awhile, the DCT takes care of that for me.
Still, its filling its role of a daily rider while keeping miles off the CB, all the while delivering an honest 74 mpg. My wife absolutely refuses get try and get on the little back seat even for a ride around the block. She misses riding even if at the end there she could only ride about 30 miles before suffering (even on the FJR). She won't ride the CB with me either. We are pondering a solution.
Even though it's the reduced seat height version, it is still a little tall for me, but manageable. I'm enjoying the light weight and the slimness. I've acquired another windshield I'm going to cut down into a shorty, for a better air flow, and am adding a battery tender pigtail this Saturday when I do the first service. I'm not sure about following the Honda recommended service intervals of 8,000 mi for oil changes and 16,000 miles for oil filters lol. At my age, that might mean one or two set of filters in my lifetime lol.
I'm also looking around for some wider footpegs. The stock pegs are very slender and tapered. Something twice as wide and rectangular would be nice.
