I think it is more along the lines of a Yamaha XSR700 than Z650 retro. No where near as much effort has gone into this as the superb Z900. It may just be the economics of it all though, you can only charge so much for a 650cc only allowing them a certain amount of R&D and costly to develop, unique parts. I'm not sure I could live with that exhaust header either. The official Kawasaki YouTube launch is getting a panning from commentators too, it bothers me neither way but it was pretty bland.
