That rocking is the torque reaction from the crankshaft spinning. The old Honda CX500 also had a 90 degree transverse V-twin but they thought of making the alternator spin in the opposite direction to the crankshaft which drastically reduced (or maybe eliminated) this effect.

I had a BMW R1100RT that did the same thing.
Must've been nice. That was one of those 'if only' bikes for me, but we can't have them all.
