PB, good suggestion, but if I went that route, I’d also have to get rid of the tire tubes, carburetors, clutch & throttle cables, etc. They’re all potential weak points as you know and prone to failure at the wrong possible moment.
In all seriousness, I’m not bothered by the ignition system. It’s easy and fun to maintain and part of what makes this bike neat to own, at least for me.
