That's it exactly. Honda even dropped the DOHC layout on their 1000/1100cc engine in the Africa Twin/NT1100/Rebel for the simpler single cam layout. Compare that to the complexity of our twin cams with sixteen valves etc etc. If all your competition are making 1000cc plus bikes and they are €2000 cheaper than yours you can't bury your head in the sand and keep churning out expensive to produce engines. Whether you like or dislike the Honda NT1100 it is an awful lot of bike for the money, no doubt much to do with that 1100 // twin engine.
