It is probably that Honda realizes that true off-road users prefer tube spoke rims since they often deflate the tires for those "rock climbing" excursions. Even the best tubeless rims seem to fail off-road (and sometimes on-road).
But yeah, for on-road I'd prefer tubeless spoke and cast rims.

Yes, for off road you can afford to dent or warp the rim some and the tube will save you. The fact that this bike only has a mild off road capability (no adjustable damping) would suggest no serious off-roader is going to go for the Transalp. It will be something much smaller or something like a Yamaha T7 and that ilk.
