I didn't catch an exact price, but only that's 3000 less than the AT.
It's a great looking bike and it appears to offer enough excitement, while still being capable and practical.
I was recently faced with "what do I buy now" after deciding to move on from my aging KLR650 after 15 years with the bike. I purchased a new Suzuki DR650 mainly for its capability, simplicity and under $7k price. A have a good friend who recommended the Africa Twin--he thought it perfect for my size. I think he wanted me to buy an ADV bike that would keep up with him on his BMW 1250GS. But the AT run $14.5-17.3, more than 2x a Dr650.
I'm assuming if the 750 Transalp is 3k less, then it costs around 11k? In the end, it is about money for me. Not that I always buy cheapest available, but I dropped my KLR enough to know--always unpaved surfaces--that it's just going to happen. If I paid north of 10 grand on a bike, I would want to take very nice care of it, defeating the purpose I would buy it for.
Sometimes I think go for it--the Yamaha Tenere and this Transalp are right on the border for me. I tell myself if my DR650 doesn't work out for whatever reason, try one of these. But then I remember certain areas I like to explore, and I remember that the KLR weight felt too much...and that's another reason why I went lighter.
So many good bikes out there. Is the Transalp coming to the U.S?
