"What bike would you most like for touring?"
My answer: the one I want to associate the trip memories with. I'm not trying to be witty here, that's the bottom line for me. Brand, type, practicality or street cred, all unimportant. It's a bonding thing. Someone once said that the trips are those made on unsuitable bikes, as those creates the richest adventures. I believe that too, but the bike I take on my long trip is simply the one I like most. I'm not really bothered by poor range, bad ergos, nonexistent rack or other things usually weighted in.
