"What bike would you most like for touring?".
I guess I'm lucky in the sense that the bike that would fit the bill for me is currently one I have in my inventory. A 2005 HD Road King. Most comfortable long distance hauler I've ever ridden. Adjustable rear air suspension. Enough on-board space to haul the kitchen sink and then some. All day comfort at 80-85mph. 200+ miles on a tank. Enough foot/leg position options to keep a 6 foot 5 inch yoga instructor happy.
I don't drink the HD Kool Aid. I wasn't in the market for an HD cruiser. I don't ride in large groups or hang out at bars. It fell in my lap due to a friend selling it at a ridiculous price. I replaced the aftermarket cans with the stock ones that came along with it and the bike is quieter than a lot of unmodded bikes on the road.
It's fired up every time I twisted the key. I've put approx 15K trouble free miles on it so far. No parts have fallen off or any of my fillings have rattled out. No oil leaks. It has the best motorcycle dealership network (BAR NONE) in the country backing it up should I ever require anything.
I like all bikes but not all riders. Haters gonna hate Billie. Let it go. It's the way of the world. I'm happy riding.....whether its on my CB or on a Harley.
