I already have a bike I don't ride much cause it's too HOT, so why buy another bike that will just sit there and suck up money? I may rethink this in October.Man, this is so weird. I have been in exactly the same place for the last two or three months. Yesterday Phoenix set a new record for the highest low temperature at 94F. Today was just as hot. I have not ridden my CB for at least a month, but every day I go through the ads looking at Japanese V-twins, watching videos about them and lusting for one. And they are selling for $3000 in beautiful condition with very low mileage - like under 10,000 miles! I like the Hondas best, but I prefer the belt drive of the Kawasakis and Harley. Harley has by far the best dealer/maintenance network. Who ever heard of a Harley shop saying they didn't work on anything over ten years old? On top of which, I will soon have my right arm in a sling for six weeks and be going through physical therapy to get the function of my right arm back to something vaguely resembling normal. I may not even be able to ride again, but here I am lusting away for a V-twin!
I like the V-twin because almost all of them are offered with the option for good wind protection and a very comfortable riding position. Now, I know a lot of sport riders do not like that riding position, but this isn't about them.
I love my CB, but not enough to ride in this heat and I know that if I bought another bike right now, I would NOT ride it. But here I sit, looking at those videos.
Good luck, Charlie Bravo.
