If you don’t want to use an image hosting service and have a Windows PC
Right mouse click on an image and select the very last item on the menu Properties. This will tell you how big the image is. The maximum size the forum will allow you to attach directly to your post is 250 KB.
Let’s say your image is a typical phone picture. Here is one of mine and its size is 7.15 MB (7,503,914 bytes), way too big for the forum direct attach feature. just right click on the photo or image, Choose Edit not Edit with Photos or Edit with Paint, just Edit.
Choose to resize from the menu. Enter an amount you want to resize too. In my case I went 10%. You can play around with the number as you will get a real size image on the screen. You can keep undoing and redoing till you get a size that you like. If it is a reasonable size on your screen, it will come in under the 250KB forum limit when saved.
Save the image as a JPEG giving it a different name so you do not overwrite the original. Now right click on the new image and choose properties, the new size in my case is 103KB, well within the limit.
On the forum on the attachments banner you need to then Choose File, select your newly saved image, next Add Attachment then Insert into post.
